Anycam doesn’t play back the recorded videos.
I click “View Recordings”, the files load but no video, no matter the video length as soon as I click “Play” it immediately jumps to the end (split second) black screen, no video.
A clean install of the software doesn’t help.
I am able to play the files in VLC and 5KPlayer no Anycam playback.
I have installed the software on 2 different computers with the same results. I will send the config,xml, settings.xml and the log file in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org in the hope you can determine the problem.

It seems, there is no codec to play mpeg4 video.
Here are the packs that contain this codec:
K-Lite — https://codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_basic.htm
LAV Filters — https://www.videohelp.com/software/LAV-Filters

I attempted to install K-Lite codecs but it wouldn’t install because I already had LAV Filters installed.
I then upgraded my LAV Filters from 0.71 to 0.731 and set it as the source filter for audio and video codecs.
I then recorded a 1 min. video, then “Review Recordings” – it showed “Converting new files” – waited until converted – I then played the video O.K., I thought it was fixed – but was unable to view the video again – same as before – jumped to end of video.
I closed Anycam and restarted – attempted to play recording – same results.
Am I configuring something wrong or is there a problem with AnyCam_Setup_220.127.116.11 I was given on 11-18-2018?
Any help on this?

Yes, these files helped in diagnosing the error.

I thought you were onto something because I am able to play the files in VLC and 5KPlayer but not Anycam playback or Windows Media Player.
I downloaded that update, when I attempted to install it the installer stated “The update is not applicable to your computer”
That update if for Windows Media Player 11 for an older OS such as Vista.
I am running Windows 7 Pro, I checked with Windows Update, there isn’t an update available for WMP 12

I have other .MP4 files that play fine on WMP 12 just not the Anycam .MP4 files.
To me that would suggest there is a problem with the Anycam video recorder/converter?

Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce the issue.
Do I understand correctly that the video you sent earlier does not play in WMP 12?

Correct, the video I sent won’t play in WMP 12, it was created on Anycam.
No error is shown, I open the file, WMP loads, the background flashes black for an instant, then the WMP shows
“Go to Library”
“Play previous list”
It reacts the same way when played on with Anycam viewer.
The MP4 video files created on Anycam won’t play in WMP.
Other MP4 files I have play fine on WMP 12.
I will email one of the other MP4 files that play on WMP 12.

Larry, please additionally check if the ffdshow codec is installed on your PC.
